After a whirlwind week in NYC and Disney, we were so ready to switch gears and start our 7‑day MSC World America cruise. Bring on the cocktails, hot tubs, and easy relaxation.
First up it was breakfast at the hotel, and they had chicken tenders, OMG! I think they were intended to go with the waffles. We had a walk around after breakfast – enjoying the sun – little did we know it was going to be elusive for the next few days!

We boarded around 11am – with firstly trying out the new MSC cruise terminal. An early boarding gave us plenty of time to explore the ship, dive into a delicious steak lunch, and check out the hot tubs.

Talking of hot tubs, our cabin comes with its own hot tub, so we wasted no time jumping into that! The perfect pre‑dinner unwind! We are staying in the Yacht Club which is the “ship within a ship” – has it’s own restaurant, bar, sun deck, and you get other things like a 24×7 butler service, and priority elevators. It’s an awkward situation where others in the elevator ask why it hasn’t stopped on their floor, eeeek. Oh well, check out these included options in the Yacht Club bar 🙂

Dinner was at La Brasserie, the more casual spot on board, and it delivered. Comfort food, great flavours, zero fuss.

Afterward, we checked out the Illusions show, which was… ok, generally entertaining, and a good warm‑up for a few more drinks to toast the start of cruise mode. The captain had warned us about rough seas, and he wasn’t kidding — the ship rocked a LOT overnight. It’s all part of the crazy storm / weather we’ve had since we’ve arrived in the States.
