Today was a full sea day, and we were excited to finally explore the ship properly. The ocean had other plans — it was a seriously rough day at sea, so all the pools were closed, and simply walking in a straight line was the biggest challenge – and this is before any beverages were consumed! But we did a fruit bowl for our room now!

Priority service in the elevator is a great start to a busy day on the ship. Don’t use it with other people already in there though!

We started the morning with a soak in our balcony hot tub, followed by breakfast, before heading to our 9am booking at the Aurea Spa. The thermal area has a hydrotherapy pool, saunas, steam rooms, and a relaxation lounge. Unfortunately, the hydrotherapy pool was closed because of the rocking, and with everyone avoiding the outdoor decks the thermal area was heaving. Because it was so busy we didn’t take our phones in so here are some photos from the Internet. Afterwards we discovered a great sports bar on the ship which became the first drink of the day.

After an quick lunch of soup and burger, we went to the 1pm showing of Dirty Dancing. They played the movie while performers added live music and dancing to match the big scenes — a fun twist on a classic.

The afternoon was all about more relaxing, a quick stop at the gin bar, and then dinner at La Brasserie again. We ordered the kids’ platter as a starter (no shame, it was great) and lamb chops for the main. Both were excellent.

With all the excitement of exploring a new ship, we finished the night with one more visit to the spa before calling it an early one.
