Today was our Cozumel port day, and we had plans we were really excited about.

We started the morning with breakfast and a hot tub soak. We headed up to the top‑deck grill to try their options. Tim continued his streak of poached eggs on toast, a near‑daily tradition at this point.

Our plan for the day was to take the ferry over to Playa del Carmen to visit our friend Olga, whom we met on a cruise a few years ago. We navigated the maze of port shops and boarded the ferry. We’d booked the first‑class section, which ended up having just one other person in it.  Our ferry ride was 45 mins, while Olga had a 60 min trip from Cancun.  With the times all synced up we were ready to go!

Unfortunately, we’d been having so much fun on the cruise that we mixed up our dates — we arrived in Cozumel today, but had given Olga the following day, eek. We were all disappointed, especially as is the way with cruises generally you aren’t there the next day!! We still managed to enjoy the energy and atmosphere of Playa del Carmen.

We made it back in time for lunch. Matt got his steak roll, and I had the sandwich of the day, a chicken burrito. After that, it was more hot tub and pool time.

Dinner came with high anticipation because lamb rack was on the menu, and it absolutely delivered. Afterward, we retreated to our room early to watch some TV and enjoy a relaxing night.
